Arrest Report - April 4, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jordan Bourque, 30, 4156 Pharr Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on April 3, 2018 at 9:50 am for criminal damage to property. Corrections deputies responded to a disturbance in a dorm at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, where Bourque was found damaging a window. Bourque was booked and remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

 

Lester Sinitiere, 26, 649 Freetown Road, Franklin, LA, was arrested on April 3, 2018 at 4:35 pm for driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Sorrell area responded to a motorist assistance incident that occurred on Highway 83 near Ashton. The victim was run off of the roadway by another vehicle. Through the course of the investigation, the deputy made contact with Sinitiere at his residence and round that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Sinitiere was released on a summons to appear in court on July 11, 2018.

 

Scott Segura, 46, 109 Oak Street, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on April 3, 2018 at 6:54 pm for careless operation and possession of synthetic cannabinoids. A deputy patrolling the Jeanerette area responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 182 near Moresi Road. The deputy found evidence that Segura traveled across the center lane of travel, into on coming traffic, and through a cane field, before resting in the ditch. During a search of Segura’s person, the deputy located a small bag of synthetic cannabinoids. Segura was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Bethany Tatum, 25, 508 Carol Road, Lot #2, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on April 3, 2018 at 10:09 am for resisting an officer.

Kenneth Benoit, 37, 508 Carol Road, Lot #2, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on April 3, 2018 at 10:35 am on the following offenses:

  • Simple battery
  • Possession of schedule II (amphetamine-dextroamphetamine)
  • Possession of Schedule IV (diazepam)
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of careless operation of a motor vehicle

 

A Narcotics Section detective responded to a disturbance at 508 Carol Road and made contact with the victim, Tatum, and Benoit. The deputy found that while attempting to detain and speak with Tatum, she forcefully pulled away from him.

The deputy made contact with the victim and found evidence that Benoit had spit on the victim during a verbal altercation. Benoit was placed under arrest. During a search of his person, the duty located several diazepam and amphetamine-dextroamphetamine pills. Both Tatum and Benoit were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Tatum was released on a $2,500 bond. No bail is set for Benoit.

 

Note: the following arrest was made on April 2, 2018

 

Mario Williams Jr., 18, 301 Martin Luther King Drive, Franklin, LA, was arrested on April 2, 2018 at 6:57 pm on a Franklin Police Department warrant for theft. A deputy assisting with a traffic stop on Highway 3215 made contact with Williams. The deputy learned of an active warrant for his arrest. Williams was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.
