Arrest Report - April 16, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 87 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Henry Truelove, Jr., 33, 132 Grey Eagle Road #1, Charenton, LA was arrested on April 13, 2018 at 7:34 om on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference. Truelove turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $200,000.

 

Curtis Gaudet, Jr., 24, 2211 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 13, 2018 at 7:31 pm for domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery (child endangerment), and criminal damage to property. Deputies investigating a call for service in Amelia found evidence that Gaudet grabbed a female victim while she was holding a small child and struck her in the face. Deputies also collected evidence that Gaudet damaged a door and phone during the disturbance. Gaudet was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Christopher Jones, 32, 506 Ninth Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 14, 2018 at 6:53 am for the following offenses:

  • No driver’s license on person
  • Operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license
  • No vehicle registration
  • No insurance
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Deputies investigating a vehicle crash on LA Highway 182 near Dixie Road in the Franklin area identified the driver as Jones. Deputies found that Jones was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and no registration or insurance when he crashed into a tree that had fallen across the roadway. Also, during the investigation, deputies located a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jones was released on a summons to appear in court on July 11, 2018.

 

Joseph Soto, 30, 104 Marin Lane, Patterson, LA was additionally charged on April 14, 2018 at 4:47 am on 2 warrants for theft. The warrants stem from 2 separate investigations. In May of 2017, a detective positively identified Soto as a suspect who stole a motor from a business located on US Highway 90 in the Patterson area. In July of 2017, a patrol deputy positively identified Soto as the suspect who went to a business in Amelia and cashed a check for $66 that had already been paid. Warrants were issued for Soto’s arrest in both cases. Soto was transferred from the Morgan City Police Department jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the warrants. No bail is set.

 

Jorge Parra, 59, 805 Cypress Road, Apt. B, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 14, 2018 at 10:41 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area came into contact with Parra on Duhon By-Pass Road and located the active warrant for his arrest. A deputy transported Parra to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Parra paid the 298.50 fine on the warrant.

 

Troy Premeaux, 55, 232 Bohn Street, Biloxi, MS was arrested on April 16, 2018 at 2:42 am for driving on divided highways (violation) and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy traveling on Degravelle Road in Amelia observed a vehicle cross over the centerline several times and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the driver as Premeaux and found that he was driving with a suspended license. The deputy transported Premeaux to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,250.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Elias Todd, 24, 609 Sebby’s Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 14, 2018 at 10:48 pm for the following offenses:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Theft
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Criminal damage to property

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit responded to a call for service regarding a vehicle that was stolen from a residence in Bayou Vista. The detective located the vehicle at a business on US Highway 90 and identified the driver as Todd. While speaking with him, the detective learned that he had ingested methamphetamine after seeing the police unit. Todd was transported to a local hospital where he was evaluated and released. Continuing the investigation, the detective found evidence that Todd damaged an interior door at the victim’s residence and stole a television and other items before stealing the victim’s vehicle. The detective also noted that Todd knew the victim. Todd was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set. The vehicle was returned to the owner. The case remains under investigation.

 

Paul Fulmer, Jr., 23, 1280 Delmar Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested don April 15, 2018 at 8:37 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

Alexis Ross, 20, 337 LA Highway 182 E, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 15, 2018 at 8:37 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

The K-9 Unit responded to a call for service regarding possible illegal drug activity at a residence on Delmar Avenue in Bayou Vista. The detective made contact with Fulmer and Ross and smelled the odor of burning marijuana coming from the residence. The detective received consent to search the location and found marijuana inside Ross’ backpack. The detective also found evidence that the marijuana belonged to both Ross and Fulmer. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on July 11, 2018.
