Arrest Report - April 18, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jessica Smith, 30, 1825 Filmore Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 17, 2018 at 10:22 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt of court, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license on person, obscured windshield/window tint, following too close, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy conducting a follow-up investigation into an unrelated complaint made contact with Smith at her residence and located the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Smith to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $380.

 

Hilton Abraham, Jr., 45, was arrested on April 18, 2018 at 7:29 pm for general speed law (violation) and possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Big Four Corners Road in Sorrel and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the driver as Abraham. While speaking with Abraham, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A bag of marijuana was located in the center console. Abraham was released on a summons to appear in court on July 11, 2018.

 

Wilson Toussaint, 19, 211 Batiste Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on April 17, 2018 at 10:41 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute (over 14 grams)
  • Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies
  • Possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

 Illegal firearms and drugs

Deputies developed information specific to illegal drug activity on Baronne Street in Baldwin. During the investigation, a deputy made contact with Toussaint on Baronne Street. While speaking with him, the deputy received consent to conduct a pat down for officer safety and located 2 handguns on Toussaint’s person. The deputy found that one of the weapons had an obliterated serial number and that Toussaint was a convicted felon. During Toussaint’s arrest, the deputy located 5 bags of marijuana, 4 pieces of crack cocaine, a digital scale, and $218 in cash money in Toussaint’s pockets. The deputy also collected evidence that Toussaint sells crack cocaine and marijuana. The illegal drugs were within 2,000 feet of a church. Toussaint was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Todd Stovall, 33, 7261 LA Highway 182, Centerville, LA was additionally charged on April 17, 2018 at 7:08 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine). In January, a narcotics detective with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the US Coast Guard who had located methamphetamine on Stovall while aboard a vessel in Morgan City. The detective obtained a warrant for Stovall’s arrest. Stovall was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on other charges. No bail is set.
