St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 49 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Robert Jeremy Ballance, 35, 5019 Railroad Ave., #8, Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 8, 2019, at 3:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

 

Ballance was located at the Morgan City Jail on the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $27,366.87.

 

Robert J. Gould, 20, 3001 Frances St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 8, 2019, at 9:56 pm for possession of marijuana.

 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. in Morgan City, La. due to a lane violation. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Gould, gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, deputies located a burnt marijuana cigarette in the ashtray. Gould was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Kassie Rae Toups, 29, 153 Nini Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 9, 12:23 am for possession of methamphetamines, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 in Bayou Vista, La. when he observed a vehicle cross over the fog line onto the shoulder of the road. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and the passenger, identified as Toups. Consent to search the vehicle was granted by the driver. During the search of the vehicle, methamphetamines, heroin, and drug paraphernalia were located. Toups was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
