Arrest Report- September 26, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Latosha Evette Sophus, 42, 11213 E. Admiral Doyle Dr., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on September 25, 2019, at 11:01 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace with offensive words.

A deputy was approached by Sophus at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin when she turned herself in on the active warrant.  Sophus was arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.

 

Bria Da'mir Parker, 18, 101 Three B's Lane, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 25, 2019, at 3:59 pm for battery-simple and resisting arrest or officer.

A deputy was advised by dispatch of a disturbance taking place on Pluto Street. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a female, later identified as Parker, hitting a male subject.  Parker resisted with force when the deputy took her into custody. Parker was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail has been set at $5,000.

 

Donald Ray Richard, Jr., 38, 2720 Buxton Dr., Grand Prairie, Tx., was arrested on September 25, 2019, at 8:11 pm on the following charges:

  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule IV drug with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Resisting arrest or officer

Jarvis Dwayne Richard, 36, 207 Newman Street, Baldwin, La., was arrested on September 25, 2019, at 7:53 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids and possession of hydrocodone.

Deputies traveled to a residence on Newman Street in reference to locating Jarvis Richard who held active warrants for his arrest. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Jarvis Richard and Donald Richard. Through the investigation, D. Richard was found to have drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession and attempted to run from deputies. J. Richard and D. Richard were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. D. Richard was released on a $5,000 bond. No bail has been set for J. Richard.

 

Dennis Manual Gonzales, 31, 129 Shannon Street, Patterson, La., was arrested on September 25, 2019, at 9:28 pm for probation violation.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia when he observed a vehicle cross the centerline prior to making a right hand turn onto Highway 182 frontage road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Gonzales.  Through the stop, dispatched advised the deputy that Gonzales held an active warrant for his arrest. Gonzales was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Janell Ourso, 63, 9205 Jessie Street, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 12:10 am on the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Possession of CDS (drug-free zone)

A deputy was patrolling the area of Barrow Street in Amelia when he observed a vehicle go off the road, nearly striking a trash can. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Ourso.  During the stop, Ourso was observed attempting to hide drugs, and subsequently drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in her possession and in the vehicle. Ourso was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

George Davison Harvey III, 37, 115 Cane Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 12:27 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • possession of methamphetamine
  • possession of suboxone
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • operating a vehicle without a driver's license
  • improper turn and/or failure to give required signal. 

A deputy was patrolling the area Cane Road in Bayou Vista when he saw Harvey who he knew held an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy made contact with Harvey and advised him of the active warrant. Harvey was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Daniel Michael Elliot, 20, 5656 Autumn Blossom Avenue, Reddell, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 12:27 am on an active warrant for theft.

A deputy was patrolling the area Cane Road in Bayou Vista when he saw Elliot who he knew held an active warrant. The deputy made contact with Elliot and advised him of the active warrant. Elliot was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.
