Arrest Report, October 22, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Aliyah Bercegeay, 22, 1005 Pauline Court, Morgan City, La, was arrested on October 21, 2019 at 12:34 pm for theft.


A deputy was dispatched to a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista in reference to shoplifting.  Bercegeay was observed taking items without paying for them.  She was released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020. 

 

Christine Stratton Crane, 49, 866 Verdunville Rd, Franklin, La, was arrested on October 21, 2019 at 4:16 pm for the following charges:


• Battery on a police officer
• Resisting arrest or officer
• Possession of marijuana
• Proper equipment required on vehicles

 

A deputy patrolling the area of Highway 87 in Centerville observed a vehicle traveling with a broken driver's side mirror.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Crane. Through the stop, drugs were located.  Crane pulled away from the deputy and attempted to dispose of the drugs. In the process, Crane committed a battery on the deputy.  Crane was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond was set at $7,250.
