St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Conley Thomas Jones, 70, 1366 Joseph Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2019, at 8:31 am for driving under suspension and improper display of license plates.

A deputy was patrolling the area of James Street in Siracusa when he observed a vehicle with a license plate cover obstructing the view of the plate. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Jones. During the stop, dispatch advised that Jones' license was suspended.  Jones was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Carlin David Stelly, 41, 9635 Highway 182, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2019, at 5:24 pm on a warrant for parole violation.

Deputies made contact with Stelly, who held an active warrant for his arrest when they were conducting a walk-through of a local business. Stelly was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

 

Gregory Keith Gober, Jr., 31, 2606 Sixth Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2019, at 8:20 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Arlington Road when he observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Gober. During the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Gober held an active warrant for his arrest. Gober was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Li Thi Miller, 69, 8691 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2019, at 8:18 pm for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business in Amelia in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant, who stated that Miller had entered her residence. Miller was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Lacey Scully, 26, 3029 Allison Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 17, 2019, at 2:33 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of child restraint violation, no driver's license, no insurance, and possession of marijuana.

Scully was located outside a local business in Morgan City by the MCPD. The deputy made contact with Scully and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
