St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Elizabeth Ruby Lewis, 32, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on February 26, 2024, at 4:06 pm for no driver's license, reckless operation/no accident, and speeding in a construction zone. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Johnny Ray Thomas, 49, Opelousas, LA, was arrested on February 26, 2024, at 4:23 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a St. Landry Parish warrant for possession of marijuana and resisting an officer.  Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Miller Smith Jr., 70, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 27, 2024, at 1:17 pm for domestic abuse battery and reckless operation/no accident. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
