St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Emilie Ann Elkins, 31, Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 5, 2024, at 4:51 pm for leash law, nuisance animals, and animals at large. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Jody Ray Cubbedge Jr., 47, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on March 5, 2024, at 3:47 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper lane usage and operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled. Cubbedge also held an MCPD warrant on the charges of forgery and theft. Cubbedge is being held for another agency.

 

NARCOTICS

Darryl August, 40, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on March 5, 2024, at 8:02 pm on the following charges:

• Improper lane usage
• Driving under suspension
• Flight from an officer
• No insurance
• Swapped license plate

August also held a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and operating a vehicle without a driver's license.

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Jody Ray Cubbedge Jr., 47, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on March 5, 2024, at 3:47 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper lane usage and operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled. Cubbedge also held an MCPD warrant on the charges of forgery and theft. Cubbedge is being held for another agency.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
