Arrest Report- September 28, 2026

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 72- hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 121 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

David Silas Leonard Jr., 31, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 25, 2026, at 2:10 pm for aggravated assault on an officer.

On Thursday afternoon, September 24, 2026, a deputy and an investigator with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office traveled to a local business in the Ricohoc area to complete a summons arrest on a subject. While speaking with the subject, a family member of the subject, identified as David Silas Leonard Jr., exited the business and began yelling obscenities and making direct threats of physical harm toward the investigator. 

Through the incident, David Silas Leonard Jr. continued to yell obscenities and advanced toward the investigator in a threatening manner. He was physically restrained and held back by the family member, preventing further escalation. 

On Friday, September 25, 2026, a detective obtained an active warrant for the arrest of David Silas Leonard Jr. for RS 14:37.2 , Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, in connection with the altercation. A SMPSO detective contacted Leonard Jr. by phone, advised him of the active warrant, and requested that he turn himself in.

A short time later, Leonard Jr. surrendered himself at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center (SMPLEC), where he was booked on the active warrant. Leonard was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Daneisha Quanshe Jackson, 23, Berwick, LA, was arrested on September 27, 2026, at 4:27 pm for theft. Bail was set at $5,000.

 

Gary Kirkland Javon Semien, 30, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 25, 2026, at 6:31 pm for possession of stolen things. Bail was set at $7,500. 

 

Eugenia Nirvana Hernandez Navejar, 26, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for forgery and theft. Bail was set at $185,000.
