Arrest Report - May 12, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 25 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Herschel Sauce, 57, 3147 Highway 87, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 11, 2017 at 9:06 pm for improper lane usage and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle swerving over the fog line and driving onto the shoulder of Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Sauce. While speaking with him, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. After observing several other indicators of impairment, the deputy administered a standardized field sobriety test. Sauce conducted the test poorly. He later registered a 0.138g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Sauce was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
