St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 48 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Patrol, Warrants, and Narcotics Sections:
John Loustalot, 32, 1209 Cayce Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 18, 2017 at 3:22 pm for criminal trespass and violation of the parish outdoor burning ordinance. A deputy responded to a report of a subject burning items on the levee in Verdunville. The deputy spoke with the subject, identified as Loustalot, and found evidence that he was trespassing and made ignited a burn pile on the property. Loustalot was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Loustalot was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
Alvin Fitch, 30, 105 Honey Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 18, 2017 at 11:28 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. A deputy located Fitch at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Fitch was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Fitch was released on a $15,000 bond.
Robert Gussman, Jr., 44, 711 Franklin Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 18, 2017 at 7:18 pm for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn onto Everett Street and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with Gussman, detectives contacted the Morgan City Police Department K-9 unit to assist. K-9 Lady indicated that the odor of illegal drugs was present. Detectives searched the vehicle and located 2 bags of methamphetamine, a container with methamphetamine inside, a bag of marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia. Through investigation, detectives also found evidence that Gussman sells methamphetamine. Gussman was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
