St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Nancy Brandon, 38, 124 Baronne Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on May 21, 2017 at 10:26 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. While working a call for service in Charenton, a deputy encountered Brandon at a residence on Chitimacha Trail and located the active warrant for her arrest. Brandon was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
Cheryl Roy, 58, 8499 Highway 90 Frontage Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 5:56 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and careless operation of a motor vehicle. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in the median of Highway 90 Frontage Road in Centerville. The deputy located an SUV in the median and made contact with the driver who was identified as Roy. While speaking with Roy, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and person. The deputy also observed other signs of impairment. Roy later registered a 0.294g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. The deputy transported Roy to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Roy was released on a $3,000 bond.
Lacey Naquin, 29, 11407 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm for violation of the parish vicious animal ordinance. A deputy investigating a complaint of a dog bite found evidence that Naquin’s dog ran out of her residence, went onto a neighboring property, and bit a male subject on the arm. Naquin was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
Nico Skipper, 27, Morgan City, LA was additionally charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs on May 22, 2017 at 10:09 pm. Skipper was already incarcerated on separate charges at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center when a correctional officer received the warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

Jalen Johnson, 24, 1028 Lafayette Street, Houma, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 4:17 pm for expired license plate and possession of Schedule I (marijuana).
Jerrod Brown, 25, 124 Margaret Street, Houma, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 4:17 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).
While patrolling Four Corners, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section K-9 Unit observed a vehicle with an expired license plate and conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 90. While speaking with the occupants, Johnson and Brown, the narcotics detective smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The detective received consent to search and located a bag of marijuana in Brown’s pocket. Through investigation, the detective collected evidence that the marijuana also belonged to Johnson. Both Brown and Johnson were released on summonses to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
Blake Charpentier, 23, 1341 Twenty Arpent Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 5:41 pm for the following offenses:
- Failure to signal properly prior to an intersection
- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
The K-9 Unit observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn onto Highway 90 from LA Highway 318 and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Charpentier, the narcotics detective gathered information that there were possible illegal drugs inside the car. K-9 Buddy indicated an odor response on the vehicle. The detective subsequently located marijuana hidden beneath a car seat along with partially burnt marijuana cigarettes and items of drug paraphernalia. A handgun was also found inside the vehicle. Charpentier was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Charpentier was released on a $14,250 bond.
Wendy Landry, 46, 224 Freetown Road, Glencoe, LA was arrested on May 22, 2017 at 8:51 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section conducted a search warrant at the residence on Freetown Road and located marijuana in Landry’s room. Landry was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
