St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 52 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Donyele Prince, 30, 4665 LA 83, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 19, 2017 at 6:31 am for reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling 90 miles an hour in a posted 55 miles per hour speed zone on Highway 83 in Baldwin. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Prince. Following the traffic stop investigation, Prince was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.
Roderick Braxton, 35, 1624 Graceland Avenue, Abbeville, LA was arrested on June 19, 2017 at 8:48 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. While patrolling Franklin, a deputy encountered Braxton and located the active warrant for his arrest. Braxton was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Braxton was released on a $2,500 bond.
Ray Acosta, 43, 514 Franklin Street #3, Franklin, LA as arrested on June 19, 2017 at 1:37 pm on a warrant from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office for illegal possession of stolen things. Assisting the St. Martin Sheriff’s office with serving the warrant, a St. Mary Parish deputy located Acosta at a business in Bayou Vista. Acosta was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Acosta was released on a $500 bond.
Jennifer Daniel, 36, 79 County Road 37098, Splindor, TX was arrested on June 19, 2017 at 3:42 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of Lortab and driving while intoxicated. Daniel was also charged on a warrant for probation violation. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrants for Daniel’s arrest.
Shermica White, 33, 401 Auburn Drive, Carencro, LA was arrested on June 19, 2017 at 11:18 am for simple battery and disturbing the peace. A deputy was dispatched to a request to standby at a residence in Verdunville. While speaking with White and other subjects at the residence, White and another female subject engaged in an argument. As the deputy stepped in, White attempted to strike the female victim. The disturbance caused neighboring residents to come out of their homes. White was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. White was released on a $3,500 bond.
