St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 50 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Narcotics Section:
Decator Crochet, Jr., 19, 310 Caffery Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 20, 2017 at 2:09 pm for possession of Schedule II (Adderall) with intent to distribute. Narcotics detectives responded to a report of a suspicious person at a business on Highway 182 in Centerville. Detectives spoke with the subject and identified him as Crochet. After receiving consent to search Crochet, detectives located Adderall pills in his pants pocket. Detectives also found evidence that Crochet planned to sell the pills. Detectives also located 2 active warrants for Crochet for failure to appear on the charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and failure to appear on the charges of no insurance, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and careless operation of a motor vehicle. Crochet was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Edwin Burke, 45, 375 Pacific Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 20, 2017 at 9:31 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives conducted a search warrant at Burke’s residence and located marijuana, rolling papers, grinders, and other items of drug paraphernalia. Burke was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.
