St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the following arrests:
UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION
Therold James, 33, 308 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 20, 2017 at 12:34 pm for (attempted) unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and 2 counts criminal damage to property. A deputy conducting a security check on a residence on Teche Road observed signs that someone had entered the home illegally. The deputy made contact with a male subject inside the residence and identified him as James. The deputy knew that James was not allowed on the property as per the property owner. During the course of the investigation, the deputy also found evidence that James had removed a window and door to gain entry into the home. During his arrest, James kicked the window of a police unit causing damage to it. James was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Geraldine Soto, 54, 104 Marin Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 20, 2017 at 11:52 pm for the following offenses:
- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
- Possession of Schedule II (amphetamine)
- Possession of Legend Drug (artorvistatin) without a prescription
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
A deputy investigating a disturbance on Marin Lane located a bag containing drugs. The deputy also located a glass pipe used for smoking illegal drugs. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that the bag and pipe belonged to Soto. Soto was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Jarrod Bellard, 33, 102 Row Four #3, Lafayette, LA was arrested on November 20, 2017 at 3:37 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Bellard was transported from the St. Martin Parish jail to the St. Mary parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the warrant. He was released on a $750 bond.
