Arrest Report - December 18, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 96 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Wanda Singleton, 48, 100 Lancelin Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 15, 2017 at 12:37 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle (with an accident) and hit-and-run driving. On December 2, 2017, a deputy was dispatched to a crash on LA Highway 182 and Moresi Road in Sorrel. The deputy determined that a car ran off the roadway, struck a telephone pole, and came to a stop in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle was not on scene. Through investigation, the deputy identified the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash as Singleton. The deputy also found evidence that Singleton left the scene of the crash and did not report the incident until several hours later. Singleton was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Scott Keck, 37, 118 Stevens Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 12:07 am for domestic abuse battery. Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a domestic related battery at a residence in Ricohoc. While speaking with the subjects involved, deputies collected evidence that Keck struck a female victim in the face. Keck was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Brian Delaune, 32, 517 Bush Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 1:40 am for license plate light required and operating a vehicle while license is suspended. A deputy patrolling US Highway 90 conducted a traffic stop in Berwick on a vehicle with no visible license plate light. The deputy identified the driver as Delaune and found that he was also driving with a suspended license. Delaune was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Jalen Allen, 25, 1325 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 2:53 am for license plate light required and possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy patrolling LA Highway 182 conducted a traffic stop in Morgan City on a vehicle with no visible license plate light. The deputy identified the driver as Allen and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search of the car, the deputy located a piece of marijuana. Allen was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Martha Bordelon, 58, 376 Verdun Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 10:23 am for the violation of the parish ordinances governing pit bulls, nuisance animals, and confinement of animals. A deputy responded to a call for service in the Franklin area regarding several dogs on the loose that had gotten into a chicken coop. St. Mary Parish Animal Control also responded. The deputy identified Bordelon as the owner of some of the animals and found that she was in violation of the parish ordinances. Bordelon was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Jasmeira Jack, 18, 160 Appolon Road, Four Corners, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 2:59 pm on a warrant for criminal damage to property and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery of the infirm. A deputy located Jack at a residence in Franklin on the warrants. The warrant for criminal damage to property was issued following an investigation into a disturbance in Baldwin. The deputy found that Jack damaged the door of a residence during an argument. Jack was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,500.

 

Rosanna Prejean, 39, 407 Scotdale Street, Lafayette, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 9:09 pm for the following offenses:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
  • Improper lane usage
  • Speeding
  • Operating a vehicle while license is suspended

A deputy traveling on US Highway 90 in the Centerville area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy also observed the vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of the roadway and across the centerline. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Prejean. The deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Prejean and observed other indicators of impairment. The deputy performed a standardized field sobriety test. Prejean conducted the test poorly and later registered a 0.133 grams percent blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Prejean was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Justin Jenkins, 28, 217 Rod Lane, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 16, 2017 at 11:23 pm for the following offenses:

  • Criminal damage to property
  • Warrant for resisting an officer
  • Warrant for simple robbery
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of illegal possession of stolen things and hit-and-run driving

The warrant for simple robbery was issued following an investigation into an October 10, 2017 complaint of a robbery. The deputy collected evidence that Jenkins stole $140 in cash from a male victim in the parking lot of a business on northwest Boulevard in Franklin. The warrant for resisting an officer was issued following an investigation into an October 22, 2017 complaint of a disturbance in Baldwin. The responding deputy observed Jenkins at the scene and advised him of the active warrant for his arrest on the robbery charge. Jenkins fled on foot. On December 16, 2017, a deputy responded to a report of a disturbance on Easy Street in the Franklin area. Upon arrival, Franklin Police had Jenkins in custody. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found that Jenkins broke the windows on a victim’s vehicle. The deputy also located the active warrants for Jenkins’ arrest. Jenkins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Juvenile female, 15, Charenton, LA was arrested on December 17, 2017 at 1:36 am for misuse of 911. A deputy working a complaint of misuse of 911 found that a juvenile female had called the St. Mary Parish 911 communications center 11 times without reporting an emergency. The deputy also found that the juvenile cursed at dispatchers during the calls. The juvenile was located at her residence. Following the investigation, the juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Luke Legnon, Sr., 37, 130 Legnon Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 18, 2017 at 9:57 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, 2nd offense and improper lane usage. A deputy traveling on LA Highway 182 in Amelia observed a vehicle swerving off the roadway and then over the centerline of the roadway several times. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Legnon. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Legnon’s breath and body. During the subsequent investigation, Legnon registered a 0.213 grams percent blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Legnon was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $5,250.
