Arrest Report - June 21, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Chad Toups, 44, 116 Doris Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on June 20, 2018, at 1:17 pm for burglary (vehicle) and a warrant for theft. A deputy patrolling Amelia responded to a burglary complaint on Julia Street. The deputy learned that several items were stolen from the victims’ vehicle. The deputy found evidence that Toups entered the victims’ vehicle and removed several items. The deputy made contact with Toups and learned of an active warrant for his arrest.

The warrant stemmed from a theft that occurred on June 10, 2018, on Village Lane in Amelia. Deputies found evidence that Toups removed an item from the victims’ porch. Toups was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.

 

Lorenzo Harris, 32, 502 ½ Henkle Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 20, 2018, at 5:05 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  •      Aggravated assault
  •      Resisting an officer by flight
  •      Simple criminal damage to property
  •      Disturbing the peace by fighting

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with Harris at the Baldwin Police Department. Harris wanted to turn himself in on a warrant. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $1,200.
