St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that the identity of the driver in the fatal crash on Highway 182 at Jupiter Street on Sunday afternoon was Richard Daigle, 80, of Morgan City, La.

Preliminary investigation details show that Daigle was operating an SUV down Jupiter Street at approximately 1:20 pm Sunday when he left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a residence at 100 Ross Lane.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
