Arrest Made in Calumet Business Burglary

On November 22, 2014 at 8:51 detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division arrested Chance Boudreaux, 20, 400 Railroad Avenue, Paterson, LA for simple burglary (business). The detective assigned to the case developed information that led to identifying Boudreaux as one of the suspects in the crime. Boudreaux was located at a residence on Tiffany Street in Patterson on Saturday. While speaking with the detective, Boudreaux admitted that he committed the burglary. Boudreaux was subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The case remains under investigation and additional arrests are expected.

This arrest stems from an investigation that began on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7:50 am when St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a report of a business burglary at Vilas & Associates on Cargill Road in the Calumet area. The investigation revealed that at approximately 11:00 pm Wednesday night two subjects accessed the property by boat, broke into a window on the waterside of the facility, and stole a commercial diving helmet valued at approximately $5,000 and approximately $200 in cash.
