St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 139 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Female Juvenile, 16, was arrested on May 24, 2019, at 2:24 pm for simple battery.

 

A deputy was contacted in reference to a simple battery complaint that occurred on Highway 182 in the Patterson area. After further investigation, it was learned the female juvenile had committed a battery on another juvenile. The female juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Christy Washington, 37, 104 Railroad Alley, Gibson, La., was arrested on May 24, 2019, at 5:17 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled and improper driving left of center of roadway.

 

Washington was located at the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center on the active warrant. No bond has been set.

 

Allis J. Jennings, 37, 404 Williams St., Patterson, La., was arrested on May 24, 2019, at 9:47 pm for failure to signal and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 in Patterson, La. when he observed a vehicle turn into a local business without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Jennings. A background check revealed she was driving under suspension. Jennings was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Zachary Leblanc, 20, 2102 Lagrange Robicheaux Rd., Franklin, La., was arrested on May 24, 2019, at 9:58 pm for possession of marijuana.

 

Ashton James Hale, 18, 140 Cherokee St., Charenton, La., was arrested on May 24, 2019, at 9:58 pm for possession of hallucinogens.

 

Deputies were patrolling the area of Hwy. 3211 in Franklin, La. when they observed a vehicle turn onto Barrow St. without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and a front passenger of the vehicle. While deputies were speaking to them, they both appeared nervous. Deputies could also smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and two more passengers, identified as Leblanc and Hale, were ordered out of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms were located. It was learned through further investigation that the marijuana belonged to Leblanc, and the mushrooms belonged to Hale. Leblanc was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019. Hale was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Jill Marie Parker, 44, 835 Two Brothers St., Amelia, La., was arrested on May 25, 2019, at 2:30 am for reckless operation (no accident), driving under suspension, and driving while intoxicated (1st offense).

 

A deputy traveling westbound on Hwy. 90 observed a vehicle on the eastbound lane traveling west bound. The deputy observed the vehicle miss several vehicles while on the Siracusa high rise. The vehicle came to a complete stop on the shoulder of the road when the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Parker. Parker admitted she had been drinking. Parker refused a Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Parker was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing, at which time she refused. She was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $4,000.

 

Brent Anthony Darden, 33, 3244 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, La., was arrested on May 25, 2019, at 2:33 pm for theft.

 

Kai Allen Martin, 31, 2904 Holly Lane, B, New Iberia, La., was arrested on May 25, 2019, at 2:33 pm for theft.

 

Darden and Martin were located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrants. The investigation stems from the theft of a side by side utility vehicle belonging to a local farm.  Both were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond on Darden was set at $13,000. Bond on Martin has been set at $25,000.

 

Jerral Wade Prestenbach, 30, 2122 Main St., Patterson, La., was arrested on May 25, 2019, at 5:47 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge for fishing without a license.

 

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 90 East and Main St. in Patterson, La. in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a witness who advised the deputies of a person on the ground, later identified as Prestenbach. Deputies made contact with Prestenbach and a background check revealed the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $500.

 

Demone Angelo Beasley, 28, 117 Jones Rd. #2, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on May 26, 2019, at 12:08 am on a warrant for failure to appear for traffic arraignment and warrants from the Franklin Police Department for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and simple criminal damage to property.

 

Beasley turned himself into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. No bond has been set.

 

Tyler James Vallot, 24, 106 Brownlee Ave., Broussard, La., was arrested on May 26, 2019, at 4:18 am for possession of marijuana, possession of legend drug without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was dispatched to 973 Hwy 90 West in reference to a vehicle striking a pole in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a male subject sleeping inside of the vehicle, identified as Vallot. While speaking with Vallot, his speech was slurred. During the search of the vehicle, marijuana, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia were located. Vallot was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $8,500.

 

Victor Laurance Crane, Jr., 51, 113 Shady Grove Dr., Patterson, La., was arrested on May 26, 2019, at 12:48 pm for domestic abuse battery.

 

A deputy was dispatched to Carol Dr. in Bayou Vista, La. in reference to a welfare concern. Upon arrival, it was learned that a physical altercation had taken place and Crane pushed the victim.  Crane was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $2,500.

 

Burkin Jerome Dupre, 33, 1503 Cross Road # 2, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on May 26, 2019, at 6:04 pm for no seat belt and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was patrolling the Bayou Vista, La. area when he observed the driver of a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Dupre. A background check revealed he was driving with a suspended license. Dupre was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Shawn Phillip Chester, 35, Solar Apts. #224, Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 27, 2019, at 12:43 am for violation of a protective order.

 

Deputies were dispatched to a business in Amelia, La. in reference to a violation of a protective order. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated Chester entered the establishment asking if she knew a subject.  It was learned that the subject had an active protective order against Chester.  The complainant then contacted the Sheriff’s Office.  Chester was located a short time later and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $2,500.

 

Drevin M. Willis, 20, 417 Southwest Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on May 27, 2019, at 9:54 am for cyberstalking and telephone calls-harassment.

 

A deputy was dispatched to 194 Jupiter St. in Bayou Vista, La. in reference to a telephone harassment complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who advised the deputy Willis had been making threats on social media and harassing the victim by phone. Willis was located at his residence and issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Asia Adale Piggott, 23, 507 Carol Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on May 27, 2019, at 4:45 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting.

 

Raven Markell Piggott, 25, 507 Carol Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on May 27, 2019, at 4:45 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting.

 

A deputy was dispatched to the Bayou Vista Skate Park regarding a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was learned A. Piggott and R. Piggott had been involved in an altercation. Both were issued summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Everette J. Ballard, 67, 2070 St. Mary St., Thibodaux, La., was arrested on May 27, 2019, at 10:08 pm for theft (under $1,000) and a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, failure to stop at stop sign, and expired motor vehicle inspection.

 

A deputy was dispatched to 500 Lake Palourde Rd. in Amelia, La. in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant. After further investigation, it was learned Ballard had taken a wallet that was left on a seat by the complainant. A background check on Ballard revealed the active warrant. Ballard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,000.

 

Luke Spencer Lewis, Sr., 36, 298 Eves St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on May 28, 2019, at 5:14 am on a warrant from Iberia Parish for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family.

 

A deputy was dispatched to 298 Eves St. in Jeanerette, La. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Lewis. A background check on him revealed the active warrant. Lewis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
