Arrest Report- August 26, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Chadwick Carter, 39, 119 Stoneburg Dr., Duson, La., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 12:02 am for driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationery on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway when he observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Carter, who was driving with a suspended license. Carter was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking and subsequently released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Dandre Prince, 23, 1765 Napoleon Street, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 1:44 am for possession of marijuana and no driver’s license.

A deputy patrolling the area of Highway 182 near Old Spanish Trail observed a vehicle pull over and activate its emergency flashers. The deputy pulled over to check on the driver, Prince, and render help if needed. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Prince did not possess a driver’s license and marijuana belonging to Prince was located. Prince was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.  

 

Martin Luther Chapman, 37, 1031 Third St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 2:01 am for turning movements/required signals and driving under suspension.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to signal when making a turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Chapman, who was driving with a suspended license. Chapman was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Alyshia Maxine Carlton, 29, 402 Clark Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 3:04 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana and signaling required.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a female walking in the middle of a dimly lit road. The deputy made contact with the female, Carlton, to check on her safety. During the stop, dispatch informed him that Carlton held an active warrant for her arrest. Carlton was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Bradley L. Artis, Sr., 48, 2929 Herchville Road 1311, Spring, TX., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 6:19 pm for disturbing the peace/noise.

A deputy was sent to headquarters for a walk-in complaint concerning a disturbance that occurred on Gum Point Lane. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Artis and was advised by dispatch that there was an active warrant for Artis’ arrest. Artis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Shakettia Nichole Skinner, 28, 214 Arizona Street, Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 24, 2019, at 7:47 pm for turning movements/required signals and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace by fighting.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Siracusaville when he observed a vehicle fail to use a signal when making a turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Skinner, and learned that there was an active warrant for her arrest. Skinner was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was later released on a $450 bond.

 

Jonathan Dean Brown, Sr., 59, 403 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 25, 2019, at 1:55 am on a warrant for purse snatching.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a male with a flashlight looking in a mailbox in the early hours of the morning. Due to complaints in the area of subjects pulling on doors during the night, the deputy made an investigatory stop. During the stop, the deputy made contact with Brown and learned of an active warrant for his arrest. Brown was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Avontre Drevonn Perro, 20, 1513 Gum Street, Franklin, La., was arrested on August 26, 2019, at 1:43 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy patrolling Highway 182 in the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and two passengers, one identified as Perro.  Through the stop, the deputy learned of an active warrant for Perro’s arrest. Perro was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $1,500.
