According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jermaine Keys, 39, 138 Aucoin Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 22, 2015 at 6:50 am for domestic abuse battery. A deputy was dispatched to a battery in progress at a residence in Amelia. Upon arriving in the area, the deputy located a male and female subject believed to be involved in an altercation in the roadway. Both subjects were detained. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Keys bit the female victim on the face during an argument. Keys was transported to the parish jail for booking.
Whitney G. Thomas, 26, 138 Aucoin Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 22, 2015 was arrested on January 22, 2015 at 6:45 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to honor written promise to appear. Deputies investigating a report of a battery in the Amelia area made contact with Thomas and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Thomas was released on a summons to appear in court on April 7, 2015.
Gladys Montes-Dimas, 36, 300 Degravelle Road, LA was arrested on January 22, 2015 at 11:43 am for 2 counts simple criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a complaint of property damage at a business near Highway 90 in Centerville. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Montes-Dimas, damaged two vehicles with a baseball bat. The deputy transported Montes-Dimas to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Howard Tabb, Jr., 41, 402 Joseph Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 22, 2015 at 11:27 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery (juvenile). A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division located Tabb at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. The warrant stems from an investigation into a welfare concern complaint during which the deputy learned that Tabb grabbed and pushed a 15 year old female victim causing her to fall to the ground. Tabb was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $3,000 bond.
Derrick White, 34, 156 Rogers Street, Charenton, LA was arrested on January 22, 2015 at 6:03 pm on a warrant for simple battery and obstruction of justice. A deputy investigating a separate complaint made contact with White and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a complaint of a battery during which the deputy learned that White stuck a male victim during an argument. White was also verbally abusive to the victim in an attempt to influence the victim’s statements in regards to a separate investigation. White was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,500.
