According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 16, Charenton LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 12:58pm for possession of stolen property (2 counts). A detective was notified of stolen articles at a residence in Charenton. During the course of the investigation, an interview was conducted with the male juvenile said to be in possession of both a stolen four-wheeler and stolen dirtbike. The juvenile male admitted that had taken the four-wheeler from a residence in Jeanerette. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Randy Plessala Jr, 42, 300 Jacob St, Berwick LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 2:28pm on a warrant for the charge of criminal trespass. A deputy assigned to patrol the Bayou Vista/ Berwick areas located Plessala at his residence. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted the previous day in where deputies learned that Plessala was operating a vehicle on the levee in the Berwick area. Plessala was arrested and later released on a summons to appear in court on May 12, 2015.
Rene Theriot, 27, 615 Fenutre Rd, Scott LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 3:23pm on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless operation of a vehicle. Theriot was located at the Lafayette Parish jail and transported to the parish jail in St Mary. No bail is set.
Wibray Dauntain, 24, 212 Easy St, Franklin LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 3:58pm for a warrant of failing to appear on the charge of theft (under $500) and simple batter and for a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana/ synthetic marijuiana with intent to distribute. A deputy located Dauntain at the courthouse in Franklin and transported him to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Anthony Bourgeois, 39, 319 Iowa St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 3:06pm on a warrant for failing to comply with terms and conditions of the drug court treatment program on the charge of possession of marijuana (2nd offense) and a warrant for failing to comply with the terms and conditions of the drug court treatment program on charges of abuse of toxic vapors, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bourgeois was located at the Lafayette Parish Jail and was transported to the parish jail in St Mary. Bail is set at $200,000.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Brian Derouen, 26, 1224 South Rd, Bayou Vista LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 5:03pm on the following charges:
- - Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- - Possession of drug paraphernalia
- - Possession of a legend drug
- - Transactions involving drug proceeds
- - Violation of the controlled dangerous substance law as it applies to drug free zones
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant on a camper located at 1224 South Rd in Bayou Vista (a residence belonging to Derouen). The residence is within two thousand feet of a local church parking lot. After a search was conducted, detectives located multiple bags of marijuana, multiple articles of drug paraphernalia, and a “gabapentin” pill. Derouen was placed under arrestee and later transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
James Dinicola, 23, 124 Field St, Bayou Vista LA, was arrested on February 3, 2015 at 7:17pm on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of controlled dangerous substance (Church and skate park) and for possession of a Schedule III narcotic.
Detectives with the St Mary Parish Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 124 Field St in Bayou Vista. The residence belonged to Dinicola and is located within 2,000 ft of a church and local skate park. During the search warrant, detectives located high-grade marijuana, a schedule III narcotic pill and several articles of drug paraphernalia. Dinicola was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
