St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jermaine Lavone Spain, 37, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 21, 2022, at 9:26 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

• possession of drug paraphernalia
• possession of marijuana
• no seatbelt
• possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles
• improper and or failure to give a required signal

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Jeffrey Edward Carlson, 46, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 21, 2022, at 12:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

• failure to secure vehicle registration
• operating a vehicle without a driver's license
• speeding
• operating a vehicle not covered by security

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Kenneth Lee Benoit, 41, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on July 21, 2022, at 4:22 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of amphetamine/dextroamphetamine and attempted possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a convicted felon. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Trecia Adams Luke, 50, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 21, 2022, at 9:43 pm for domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Agustin Mendoza Vera, 35, Amelia, LA, was arrested on July 22, 2022, at 1:00 am on the following charges:

• traffic control signals
• driver must be licensed
• open container
• driving while intoxicated

Bail was set at $3,500.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
