According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 34 complaints and reports no arrests by the Uniform Patrol Division.
The Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Brittnay Clements, 26, 1611 Sterling Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 14, 2014 at 6:33 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, possession of Legend Drug (Seroquel) without a prescription, and possession of Legend Drug (Tramadol) without a prescription.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division Detectives went to 1611 Sterling Rd. Apt C in Franklin to locate Clements on the active warrant. Detectives made contact with Clements at the residence and subsequently transported her to the parish jail for booking.
Wibray Dauntain, 20, 212 Easy Street St. Joseph, LA was arrested on July 14, 2014 at 7:27 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Obstruction of justice
- Purchase and public possession of alcoholic beverages by persons under the age of 21
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Franklin area observed a male subject standing near the corner of Talbot and Isabella Streets. Upon seeing narcotics detectives, the subject walked to a nearby parked car and dropped bags of marijuana near the vehicle. Detectives then observed the subject quickly make his way back to the side of the street. Detectives made contact with the male subject who was identified Dauntain. While speaking with Dauntain, detectives located the two bags of marijuana he had dropped by the vehicle. Detectives also located a bottle of liquor and $424 dollars in cash on Dauntain. The currency was seized pending forfeiture. Detectives believe the money was derived from illegal drug sales. Detectives also learned that Dauntain had an active warrant for his arrest. Detectives transported Dauntain to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
