According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Chandler Williams, 24, 404 Williams Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 28, 2015 at 2:33 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 3rd offense and probation violation.
Tyrique Jones, 17, 1512 Plum Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 28, 2015 at 2:33 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana0 with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and resisting an officer.
A deputy investigating a single vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Morgan City made contact with Williams and Jones. During the course of the investigation, the deputy located a partially smoked cigar containing marijuana in the vehicle Williams was driving. Additional marijuana was located on his person. While the deputy was speaking with Jones, the 17 year old attempted to run away. The deputy apprehended Jones and located a handgun concealed in his pant leg and several small bags of marijuana hidden on his person. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Kent Bailey, 56, 1610 Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, LA was arrested on April 28, 2015 at 9:13 am on a warrant for reckless operation, possession of Schedule I (marijuana), and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. The warrant stems from an investigation into a single vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 87 on April 19, 2015. The deputy learned that Bailey failed to maintain control of the vehicle he was operating and drove into a ditch. The deputy also learned from witnesses at the scene that Bailey dropped a pill bottle containing marijuana as he was being transported for medical treatment. And, a hand gun was located inside the vehicle Bailey was driving. Following the investigation, the deputy obtained a warrant for Bailey’s arrest. Bailey turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. He was later released on a $4,000 bond.
Clement J. Mire, 32, 1000 Tower Tank Road, Stephensville, LA was arrested on April 28, 2015 at 1:40 pm on a warrant for theft and illegal possession of stolen things. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a report of a burglary that occurred in the 200 block of Universe Street in Bayou Vista. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received the complaint on March 30, 2015. The complainant stated that a boat engine, boat propellers, and tools were taken from a shed. The detective assigned to the case located some of the stolen items at a local pawn shop and identified Mire as the subject who pawned the items. A warrant was obtained for Mire and he was located in the Assumption parish jail. A deputy transported Mire from the Assumption Parish Detention Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. Mire was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
