Arrest Report - May 6, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Rand Metrejean, Jr., 49, 122 West Side Park Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on May 5, 2015 at 8:26 am on a warrant for simple battery and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to report an accident, and failure to honor written promise to appear. The warrant for simple battery stems from an investigation into a complaint of a disturbance that occurred at a residence on West Side Park Lane in Amelia in June of 2014. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Metrejean punched a male victim in the face during an argument. The victim was treated at a local hospital and later released. Metrejean turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. Bail is set at $844.50.

Dwight Collins, 37, 108 Collins Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on May 5, 2015 at 11:39 pm on an Iberia Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charges of seat belt violation and driving under suspension. A deputy made contact with Collins at his residence and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

Kelly L. Broussard, 47, 122 Palmer Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on May 6, 2015 at 2:26 am on a warrant for theft. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a complaint received in January regarding 5 dozen missing tramadol pills from a residence in Centerville. The deputy assigned to the case learned that Broussard, the caregiver of the 85 year old homebound victim, stole the pills while in the female victim’s residence. During the course of the investigation, Broussard admitted to the deputy that she took the pills from the home. The deputy obtained a warrant for Broussard’s arrest. Early this morning, a deputy assigned to patrol the Ricohoc area observed female subject walking on Highway 182 and made contact with her. The deputy identified her as Broussard and located the active warrant for her arrest. Broussard was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.
