According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Joshua Delaney, 27, 130 Keller’s Lane, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on July 29, 2015 at 8:12 am for the offenses of:
- Warrant for simple battery
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery
- Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Mary Delaney, 51, 130 Keller’s Lane, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on July 29, 2015 at 8:12 am for the offenses of:
- Obstruction of justice
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to dim lights and driving under suspension
A deputy went to 130 Keller’s Lane in Ricohoc to locate Joshua Delaney who was wanted on active warrants. The deputy made contact with Mary Delaney, who told the deputy that her son, J. Delaney, was not at home. The deputy made contact with a second subject who stated that J. Delaney was in a bedroom towards the back of the residence. The deputy located J. Delaney and also found synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia in the bedroom. The deputy also learned of two active warrants for M. Delaney. The warrant for simple battery for J. Delaney is the result of an investigation into a complaint of a battery. The complainant stated that J. Delaney struck a male victim in the face. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Erin Vilcan, 37, 222 Cherokee Street, Charenton, LA was arrested on July 29, 2015 at 8:29 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of issuing worthless checks. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division made contact with Vilcan at her residence and transported her to the parish jail for booking. Vilcan was released after posting $10,000 bond.
Elkin Mesa, 24, 16218 Dew Drop Lane, Houston, TX was arrested on July 29, 2015 at 1:28 pm on a Morgan City Police warrant for illegal carrying of a weapons (in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance). Mesa turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. A deputy transported Mesa to the parish jail for booking. Mesa was released on a $720 bail.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Cherry Donati, 31, 2820 Second Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on July 29, 2015 at 4:06 pm for the following offenses:
- Possession of Schedule III (Narco pills)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were patrolling the Morgan City area when they observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn onto Onstead Street from Federal Avenue. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Donati. During the course of the investigation, 3 Narco pills were located on Donati’s person, along with a straw believed to be used to ingest the pills. Donati was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
NOTE: The following arrest was made on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Anna Collette, 35, 232 Wayne Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on July 28, 2015 at 7:49 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids. Detectives conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located a bag of synthetic cannabinoids beneath the front passenger seat where Collette had been sitting. Detectives learned that the illegal substance belonged to Collette who was transported to the parish jail for booking. As the investigation continued, detectives developed information that resulted in the search of a residence in Verdunville.
