According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Marcus D. Parker, 24, 424 7th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 19, 2015 at 8:14 am on a warrant for failure to notify law enforcement of a change of address as a sex offender. Parker was convicted of indecent behavior with juveniles in St. Mary Parish in 2012. A detective with the Sex Offender Compliance Division conducted a compliance check at the offenders registered address on St. Joseph Lane and learned that he was no longer living at the residence. The detective obtained a warrant for Parker’s arrest and located him at the 7th Street address listed above. No bail is set.
Joseph H. Pollard, 53, 202 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 19, 2015 at 10:42 am on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Pollard was convicted in St. Mary Parish in 1989 of molestation of juveniles and in 2003 for indecent behavior with juveniles. Pollard was also convicted of failing to notify law enforcement of a change of address as a sex offender in 2012. Pollard failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. A detective with the Sex Offender Compliance Division located Pollard at his residence. No bail is set.
David T. Francois, 43, 405 Fourth Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 19, 2015 at 11:14 am for the following offenses:
- Warrant for failure to provide notification as a sex offender
- Warrant for failure to pay annual sex offender registration fee
- Warrant for failure to obtain a special identification card as a sex offender.
Francois was convicted in St. Mary Parish in 1999 for sexual battery. Francois failed to meet sex offender notification, registration, and ID requirements. A Sex Offender Compliance Division detective obtained warrants for the offenses. Francois turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City after learning of the active warrants for his arrest. No bail is set.
Anthony Ackman, 33, 1599 Prairie Road Circle, Centerville, LA was arrested on August 19, 2015 at 9:20 pm for domestic abuse battery (in the presence of juveniles). A deputy was dispatched to disturbance at a residence in Centerville. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Ackman used his shoulder to forcefully push a female victim during an argument. A young child was in the room when the battery occurred. The deputy transported Ackman to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Shawn Thompson, 37, 107 Lambert Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 19, 2015 at 11:05 pm on a Lafourche Parish warrant for contempt of court. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista stopped to speak with two subjects standing near a vehicle on Mars Road. While doing so, the deputy learned that one of the subjects, identified as Thompson, had an active warrant from Lafourche Parish. Bail is set at $1,000.
