According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
John G. Deville, 49, 271 Grandwood Drive, Apt. #46, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 11:48 am for the following offenses:
- Possession of Schedule I drugs, 2nd offense
- Abuse of toxic vapors
- Careless operation of a motor vehicle
After receiving a complaint of a reckless driver, a deputy located a vehicle matching the description off of the roadway, near the opposite lane of travel, near a ditch on Highway 182 near the Greenwood overpass. The deputy observed the driver to be asleep at the wheel, with a lit rolled cigar in his hand, and the vehicle in drive. The deputy made contact with the driver, Deville, and had him place the vehicle in park and turn the engine off. While speaking with Deville about what happened, Deville admitted to the deputy that he was smoking a synthetic drug. Following the investigation, the deputy transported Deville to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Angela Dore, 40, 6706 Bull Island Road #2, New Iberia, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 11:50 pm on an Iberia Parish warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy received information that Dore was in the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. The deputy made contact with Dore, confirmed the warrant, placed her under arrest, and released her on a summons to appear in court on November 9, 2015.
Taylor Davis, 17, 124 Natalie Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 5:23 pm on a warrant for criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, and criminal trespass. A deputy obtained the warrant following an investigation into a report of property damage that occurred at a motel in Bayou Vista on September 5, 2015. The deputy determined that Davis went onto the property and kicked the door of a room after being told not to return. Another deputy made contact with Davis on Natalie Lane during an investigation into a separate complaint and located the active warrant for his arrest. Davis was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Devin Metrejean, 22, 138 Sun Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 8:52 pm for driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling Siracusaville observed a vehicle with an unlit license plate light and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Metrejean, and learned that he was operating the vehicle despite having a suspended driver’s license. The deputy released Metrejean on a summons to appear in court on November 9, 2015.
Huey A. Hopkins, II, 32, 101 Yellow Bayou Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 9:46 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a 911 call that was disconnected just after an address was obtained. During the brief call, the operator heard a male voice screaming and cursing in the background. When deputies arrived at the address in Centerville they made contact with Hopkins and a female subject. The deputies observed wounds on the woman’s face and arms. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Hopkins pushed the female victim causing her to fall onto a shower door. Deputies transported Hopkins to the parish jail. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Johnny Francois, 25, 518 5th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 16, 2015 at 7:01 pm on a warrant for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. On September 19, 2014, detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant at a residence at 620 7th Street in Morgan City. Detectives found marijuana, several marijuana plants, and items of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that the plants belonged to Francois who was not at the location at the time. Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. On September 16, 2115, while patrolling Morgan City, detectives saw Francois standing in front of a residence on 5th Street in Morgan City. Francois was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
