Eric L. Curtis, 27, 1510 Front Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 28, 2015 at 6:50 am for criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy responded to a report of a male subject lying in the front yard of a residence on Mars Road in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Curtis, and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Curtis, who had been drinking the night before, broke a mailbox when he tripped while walking. The deputy transported Curtis to the parish jail for booking. Curtis was later released on a summons to appear in court on December 7, 2015.

Byron Wesley, 17, 278 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 28, 2015 at 11:17 am for 1 count of unauthorized use of an access card as theft and 5 counts of attempted unauthorized use of an access card as theft. A detective investigating a report of a fraudulent credit card purchase developed Wesley as a person of interest. While speaking with Wesley, the detective learned that he took a picture of the victim’s credit card when the victim made a purchase at the business where Wesley worked in Franklin. The detective determined that Wesley had kept the card out of the victim’s sight for an unusually long period of time during the transaction. Wesley then used the card information to make a purchase online, and attempted to make other online purchases as well.
