According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Lendell Riles, 25, 1519 Cherry Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 17, 2015 at 8:13 pm for possession of Schedule II crack cocaine with intent to distribute, resisting an officer, and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone). A patrol deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, identified as Riles. Riles made statements that indicated to the deputy that illegal drugs were inside the vehicle. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division responded to the scene. As the investigation progressed, detectives contacted the Morgan City Police Department K-9 team for assistance. When the K-9 unit signaled that there were illegal drugs in the vehicle, Riles fled on foot. Detectives gave chase and quickly apprehended Riles who was then detained. During a search of the vehicle, detectives located two bags of crack cocaine. Following the investigation, which took place within 2,000 feet of a church, Riles was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Kenneth Lee, 36, St. Joseph, LA was additionally charged on November 17, 2015 at 6:52 am on a warrant for failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. Lee, who was convicted in 1998 in St. Mary Parish for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, failed to meet state requirements for sex offenders. Lee was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
Matthew J. Anslum, 26, 518 Martin Luther King Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on November 17, 2015 at 9:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy responding to a complaint on Penn Road North in Franklin made contact with Anslum and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Anslum was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
