According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Cayd Hatch, 713 Prairie Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on December 9, 2015 at 11:25 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hatch turned himself in on the warrant at St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Franklin. Hatch was transported to the parish jail for booking.
Jason J. Adams, 40, 1013 Malcolm Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 9, 2015 at 7:11 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended license. A deputy patrolling the area of the Franklin levee and Myette Point Boat Landing made contact with Adams. While speaking with him, the deputy located an active warrant for his arrest. Adams was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
William Davis, Jr., 57, 214 Apt. #1, Mars Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 9, 2015 at 10:24 pm for aggravated battery. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was flagged down in St. Mary Plaza by a male subject who stated that he had been stabbed in the face. The suspect was identified as a man the victim knew whose name was Davis. Deputies located Davis at his residence and detained him. Through the course of the investigation, deputies learned that Davis believed the victim owed him money and confronted him in the 700 block of Saturn Road. There Davis struck the victim in the jaw with an object causing a puncture wound. The victim refused medical attention. Evidence collected during the investigation indicates that the weapon Davis used was a small screwdriver he carries with him to fix his eye glasses. Davis was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Jeffrey Schexnider, 36, 421 Southeast Blvd. Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 9, 2015 at 5:22 pm for improper lane usage, possession of Schedule II (Lortab), and possession of Schedule III (Subutex). Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were traveling down Hwy 182 in the Bayou Vista area when they observed a car traveling in front of them cross over the solid yellow line and then turn, at a high rate of speed, onto Rose Lane. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Schexnider. Schexnider was advised of the reason for the stop. While speaking with him, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located a pill and a Lortab pill inside an over the counter drug bottle. Detectives learned that Schexnider did not have a valid prescription for the pills. He was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Gerald Crooks, 54, 374 Degravelle Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on December 9, 2015 at 8:37 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia, 3rd offense. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed the driver of a car fail to signal a turn onto Greenwood Street. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Crooks. The Morgan City Police Department K-9 unit arrived to assist detectives with the stop. The K-9 indicated a response on the vehicle. During a search of the car, detectives located steel wool and several pieces of a glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine. Also located in the vehicle was a socket that had been used as a crack pipe. Detectives additionally learned that Crooks had two prior arrests for possession of drug paraphernalia. Crooks was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
