According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Saisha M. Willoughby, 28, 187 Violet, LA was arrested on December 22, 2015 at 12:30 pm on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant from Patterson Police for theft by shoplifting. A deputy transported Willoughby from the Lafourche Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Willoughby was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.
Kai Martin, 27, 121 Jena Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on December 22, 2015 at 12:53 pm on a warrant for theft. A deputy investigating an August complaint of a stolen vehicle learned that the victim left a car with Martin so that he could repair it. The deputy discovered that Martin scrapped the vehicle at a scrap yard in New Iberia. A deputy transported Martin from the St. Martinville Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Martin was released after posting $1,500 bond.
Marvin Alfaro-Virula, 37, 70 Tucker Street, Savannah, TN was arrested on December 22, 2015 at 3:13 pm on a Louisiana State Police warrant for 3 counts of unlawful possession and distribution of fraudulent documents for identification purposes. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division made contact with Alfaro-Virula at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and located the active warrant for his arrest. Alfaro-Virula was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Donna S. Reed, 44, 1900 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 22, 2015 at 6:26 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with an expired license plate. A deputy responding to a complaint on Saturn Road made contact with Reed and located the active warrant for her arrest. Reed was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
Karlyn A. Knudsen, 57, 104 Redwood Lane, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on December 23, 2015 at 2:51 am for license plate light required and no insurance. A deputy assigned to patrol the Amelia area observed a vehicle on Joel Boulevard without a visible license plate due to the vehicle having no license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on Duhon Boulevard and made contact with the driver, identified as Knudsen. While speaking with Knudsen, the deputy learned that she was operating the vehicle without insurance. Knudsen was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.
