According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 48 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Nadia R. Bourgeois, 17, 890 Verdunville Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 12:23 pm for simple battery.
Makenzie N. Marcotte, 17, 165 Cane Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 12:29 pm for simple battery.
A school resource officer was dispatched to Centerville High School in reference to a fight between two students. During the course of the investigation, both admitted to the SRO that they were involved in a physical altercation. Bourgeois and Marcotte were transported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and were later released on summonses to appear in court on November 14, 2014.
Charlie Williams, Jr., 35, 721 Arlington Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 2:06 pm on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Arlington Street made contact with Williams and discovered the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Williams to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Cody T. Bell, 23, 3713 Haring Road, Metairie, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 2:35 pm for possession of Schedule II (Suboxen). A deputy responded to a report of a subject in possession of illegal drugs at the Fairview Treatment Center in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Bell was in possession of a Suboxen patch that was hidden in his shoe. The deputy transported Bell to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Darin T. Hannigan, 36, 1300 Burke Place, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 6:32 pm for aggravated assault.
Brian J. Derouen, 26, 100 Cypress Drive, Berwick, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 6:35 pm for simple assault.
A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance on Arlington Street in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with Derouen and began the investigation. The deputy later located Hannigan at his residence. After gathering statements from Hannigan, Derouen, and witnesses to the incident, the deputy determined that Hannigan and Derouen confronted each other on Arlington Street. At the time of the encounter, Derouen had clenched fists and Hannigan had a tire iron. The deputy transported both subjects to the parish jail for booking. Derouen was later released on a $250 bond. No bail is set for Hannigan.
Shaddrick J. Neddie, 38, 1308 James Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 6:53 pm on a warrant from a Justice of the Peace for simple battery. While booking the offender listed above at the parish jail, the booking deputy learned of the active warrant. No bail is set.
Willie M. Hamilton, 59, 1409 Ellzey Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 7:12 pm for the following offenses:
- Speeding (64 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone)
- Improper lane usage
- Driving while intoxicated, second offense
- Open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle
A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a truck travelling at a speed over the posted limit on Highway 182. Upon following the vehicle, the deputy saw the truck swerving on the roadway and crossing over the fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Hamilton. While speaking with Hamilton, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Hamilton performed poorly. Hamilton later registered a 0.135g% blood alcohol concentration on the breath test. The deputy transported Hamilton to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Michael Bowie, 53, 135 Baronne Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on August 14, 2014 at 8:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs. A deputy assisting the US Marshalls Office with serving outstanding warrants made contact with Bowie at his residence in Baldwin. While speaking with Bowie, the deputy learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Bowie to the parish jail for booking. Bowie was later released on a $1,500.
