According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Charles Mitchell, Jr., 36, 150 Lot #2, Jimmy’s Trailer Court, Gibson, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 11:29 am for criminal damage to property and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance and damage to property at a motel on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. Deputies made contact with Mitchell and detained him. During the course of the investigation, deputies gathered evidence that Mitchell damaged an air conditioner, mattress, carpet and other items in a room at the motel. Deputies also located 2 needles and a metal spoon inside a sock in Mitchell’s pocket. Mitchell was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Emilie B. Pittman, 23, 600 Superior Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 11:43 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and no driver’s license. A deputy located Pittman at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin and transported her to the parish jail for booking.
Donna S. Reed, 45, 1900 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 4:50 pm for the following offenses:
- Hit and run driving
- Driving with a suspended license
- Following too close
- No insurance
- No proof of registration in vehicle
- Failure to report a crash
A deputy investigated a hit and run crash involving 2 vehicles on Highway 182 near Carolyn Street in Bayou Vista. The deputy located the suspect vehicle and driver, Reed, at her residence. The deputy found that Reed was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no insurance when she rear-ended another vehicle on the highway. Reed was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.
Lonny Baker, Sr., 50, 616 ½ 12th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 9:48 pm for driving under suspension and proper equipment required.
Kenneth Smith, 54, 1008 Dora Washington Road, Cade, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 9:48 pm for possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles.
A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle on Highway 182 with only one working headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Baker, and passenger, Smith. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy found that Baker was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The deputy also observed an open bottle of beer in the vehicle and collected evidence that the container belonged to Smith. Both subjects were released on summonses to appear in court on November 21, 2016.
Abraham T. Larron, 18, 217 Lockley Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 11:08 pm for possession of marijuana. A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed 2 subjects on John Street. One subject was riding a bicycle and the other was on foot. The deputy then observed the subject on foot throw a small bag to the ground. The deputy made contact with that subject and identified him as Larron. The deputy recovered the baggie and found that it contained a small amount of marijuana. Larron was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.
