According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the holiday weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 162 complaints and made the following arrests:
Micah Scott, 19, 145 Michael Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 23, 2016 at 11:11 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery (in the presence of a juvenile) and criminal damage to property. On November 23, 2016 at 12:59 am, a deputy was dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Franklin. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Scott grabbed a female victim and pushed her during an argument. A juvenile was sleeping in the residence at the time. The deputy also found evidence that Scott damaged a window and TV before leaving the area. The deputy obtained a warrant for Scott’s arrest. At 10:56 am, deputies responded to a second complaint that Scott was causing a disturbance at the residence. When Deputies arrived, they learned that the suspect had left the location. Deputies conducted a search of the area and located him hiding in a nearby patch of trees and bushes. Scott was taken into custody without incident and transported to the parish jail for booking. Scott was released after posting a $4,000 bond.
David C. Reed, 35, 17720 West LA Highway 700, Kaplan, LA was arrested on November 23, 2016 at 10:54 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to a complaint of a reckless driver on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. The deputy located the suspect vehicle in Calumet and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and person. The driver was identified as Reed. After observing additional signs of impairment, the deputy conducted a field sobriety test. Reed performed the test poorly. He later registered a 0.135g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. The deputy transported Reed to the parish jail for booking. Reed was released after posting a $3,000 bond.
Alana Antoine, 31, 517 South Lewis Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on November 25, 2016 at 5:44 am for hit and run driving. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle that overturned into a ditch off Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway in Baldwin. The deputy found the car unoccupied. A short time later, the deputy received information from an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputy that they located a female subject who had information about a crash. The St. Mary deputy found evidence that the subject, identified as Antoine, was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The deputy also found that Antoine fled from the area following the crash. Antoine was transported to the parish jail for booking. Antoine was released on a $1,000 bond.
Stacey Dauphine, 39, 317 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 25, 2016 at 1:49 pm for simple battery. A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in Franklin. The deputy observed 2 female subjects yelling at each other. The deputy spoke with the subjects involved and found evidence that Dauphine pushed a female victim to the ground. Dauphine was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,500.
Tyris E. Dauphin, 30, 2565 Verbena Street, New Orleans, LA was arrested on November 26, 2016 at 1:50 pm for driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Pickett Lane in Franklin. The complaint stated that the subjects in the vehicle were going door to door attempting to sell merchandise. The deputy located and stopped the vehicle. The deputy spoke with the driver who was identified as Dauphin and found that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. The deputy also found that the occupants of the vehicle did have valid sales licenses and selling permits. Dauphin was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.
James Edwards, 45, 1200 McDermott Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 27, 2016 at 12:40 am on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy located Edwards on Aucoin Lane in Amelia on the warrant. The warrant was issued as the result of an investigation into a complaint of a battery that occurred outside of a business in Amelia in August. The deputy found evidence that Edwards struck a female victim and pushed her to the ground. Edwards was transported to the parish jail for booking. Edwards was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
Kale W. Matthews, 25, #7 Cindy Court, Houma, LA was arrested on November 27, 2016 at 3:36 pm for theft (by shoplifting).
Matthew W. Marant, 30, #7 Cindy Court, Houma, LA was arrested on November 27, 2016 at 1:36 pm for theft (by shoplifting).
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security personnel that Matthews and Marant were seen removing video games from the packaging and concealing them. Following the investigation, Matthews and Marant were released on summonses to appear in court on February 3, 2017.
