Arrest Report - December 14, 2016

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Larry Delahoussaye, 55, 713 Taurinac Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on December 13, 2016 at 4 :54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the cahrge of theft. A correctional officer transported Delahoussaye from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Delahoussaye was released on a $1,000 bond.


Cristian Barard, 17, 206 Provost Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 13, 2016 at 3:40 pm on a warrant for second degree battery. A deputy investigated a complaint of a battery in Baldwin that occurred on December 6, 2016. The deputy collected evidence that Barard struck a male victim in the face during an argument and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Barard turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.


Michelle Cothron, 55, 530 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 13, 2016 at 5:19 pm for theft and criminal trespass. On November 28, 2016, a deputy responded to a report of a theft of Christmas decorations from a yard on Middle Road in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that a subject was seen on video surveillance taking a set of Christmas lollipop lights from the resident’s yard. A portion of the video was released to the public and media in an effort to recover the stolen decorations. Deputies received tips regarding the crime and developed Cothron as a suspect in the case. Deputies located the stolen items on display at Cothron’s residence along with other evidence identifying her as the subject in the video. While speaking with deputies, Cothron also admitted to stealing the decorations. She was transported to the parish jail for booking. Cothron was released on a $2,500 bond. Brett J. Keton, 22, Glenmont Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 13, 2016 at 6:43 pm on 2 warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy transported Keton from the Jefferson Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. Bail is set at $200,000.


Juvenile male, 13, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 14, 2016 at 12:42 am for curfew violation. A deputy observed a vehicle driving on Highway 182 in Morgan City with no lit headlights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, and a 13-year- old passenger. The deputy found that the juvenile was not with a guardian. Following an investigation, the deputy released the juvenile to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
