Arrest Report - January 19, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and made the following arrests:

 

K-9 UNIT - NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Cindy Denman, 24, 2312 9th Street, Austin, TX was arrested on January 18, 2018 at 3:38 pm for improper lane usage, possession of Schedule I (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia. The K-9 Unit observed a vehicle cross over the fog line of US Highway 90 in the Patterson area and conducted a traffic stop. The detective identified the driver as Denman. While speaking with her, the detective learned that Denman had marijuana in her possession. Marijuana was located in her purse along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Denman was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,750.

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Juvenile male, 15, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 18, 2018 at 7:34 pm for aggravated assault. A deputy investigated a complaint of an assault that occurred in Sorrel. The deputy collected evidence that the juvenile pointed a BB gun at a juvenile male victim. The 15-year-old juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Daniel Edlin, 29, 222 Patton Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 19, 2018 at 6:58 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and driver must be licensed. A deputy responded to a call for service about a reckless driver on LA Highway 182 in the Amelia area. The deputy located the suspect vehicle stopped in the lane of travel on Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. The deputy then observed the vehicle accelerate and move into the opposite lane of travel before driving down the middle of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Edlin. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Edlin and observed several other signs of intoxication. The deputy also found that Edlin did not have a license to drive. Following the investigation, Edlin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,000.

 

Durrell Lanceslin, 38, 129 Martin Luther King Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 18, 2018 at 6:49 pm for driving on roadway laned for traffic, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

Danny Mitchell, 37, 607 Rosebud Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 18, 2018 at 6:49 pm for obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy monitoring traffic on US Highway 90 in the Four Corners area observed a vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Lanceslin. Another deputy assisting with the traffic stop observed a passenger chewing marijuana. The passenger was identified as Mitchell. The deputy also observed pieces of marijuana on Mitchell’s jacket. Deputies located a digital scale and a marijuana cigar inside the vehicle and found that Lanceslin was driving with a suspended license. Lanceslin was released on a summons to appear in court on April 2, 2018. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Brad Derouen, 27, 1224 South Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 19, 2018 at 5:15 am for possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a call for service regarding an unconscious subject at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy identified the subject as Derouen. While checking on Derouen’s well-being, the deputy observed a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine next to him. Acadian Ambulance transported Derouen to Teche Regional Medical Center. Upon Derouen’s release from the medical facility, he was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
