Arrest Report - March 8, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Ricky Pillaro, 62, 812 First Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 9:56 am on 5 warrants for failure to appear on drug related charges, charges of theft and criminal trespassing, and vehicle violations. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional deputy located the active warrants for Pillaro’s arrest. No bail is set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Demetria Francis, 39, 217 Oliver Street, Waveland, MS was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 11:12 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A narcotics detective conducted a traffic stop on LA Highway 182 in Amelia, identified the driver as Francis, and located the active warrant for her arrest. Francis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Francis was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Chris Baptiste, 50, 510 Third Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 12:41 pm for the following warrants:

  • Warrant for failure to provide notification as a sex offender or child predator
  • Warrant for failure to register as a sex offender or child predator
  • Warrant for failure to pay annual registration fee as a sex offender or child predator

A narcotics detective received information that Baptiste was at a location on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista and arrested him on the warrants. Baptiste was convicted in 1997 in St. Mary Parish on the charge of forcible rape. The warrants were issued after a detective with the sex offender compliance section found that Baptiste failed to meet the state requirements for registered sex offenders. Baptiste was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Tina Weaver, 48, 122 Doris Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 7, 208 at 1:48 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A narcotics detective received information from Morgan City Police that Weaver was on Mallard Street. The detective arrested Weaver on the warrant and released her on a summons to appear in court on May 30, 2018. The warrant was issued following a narcotics investigation in January in Amelia. Detectives located a marijuana cigar, a bag of marijuana, and a pack of cigar wraps inside Weaver’s vehicle.

 

Justin Crews, 36, 156 Chirpy’s Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 2:46 pm for domestic abuse battery (strangulation) (child endangerment act). A narcotics detective investigated a report of a battery that happened at a residence in Amelia. The detective collected evidence that Crews and a female victim were involved in an argument when Crews grabbed the victim by the neck. The battery happened in front of a child. Crews was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Jessie Lopez, 62, 343 Edmond Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 3:10 pm on an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for obscenity. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section was contacted by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division to assist in locating Lopez. The deputy found Lopez at his residence and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the Iberia Parish warrant. No bail is set.

 

David Phillips, 38, 201 Collins Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 6:20 pm for the following offenses:

  • Stopping; parking prohibited in specific places
  • No driver’s license
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids)
  • Possession of Schedule I (MDMA)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Narcotics detectives patrolling Franklin observed a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Anderson and Willow Streets. Detectives found that the driver, identified as Phillips, was asleep at the wheel. Detectives observed that Phillips had burnt cigarettes, a pack of rolling papers, and a bag containing a white residue in his lap. When detectives made contact with Phillips, he attempted to hide the items. Detectives located synthetic cannabinoids and a bag of MDMA on Phillips. Detectives also found that Phillips was driving without a license. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Stacey Grubb, 37, 618 Willow Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 7, 2018 at 7:59 pm for the following warrants:

  • 2 warrants for failure to appear on the charge of violation of a protective order
  • Warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia

The K-9 Unit assisted a deputy with investigating a suspicious vehicle behind St. Mary Plaza in Bayou Vista. The detective identified Grubb as the owner of the vehicle and located the active warrants for her arrest. Grubb was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
