Narcotics Detectives Make 2nd Arrest for Illegal Drugs/Money Found at Patterson Residence

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Roland August, 20, 420 Sorrell Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 27, 2018 at 3:38 pm on a warrant for theft of assets of an aged person. In September, a detective investigated a report of unauthorized use of an access card in Baldwin. The detective positively identified August as the suspect who used the elderly victim’s bank card to steal over $300 from the victim’s account. A warrant was issued for August’s arrest. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional deputy located the active warrant for August’s arrest. August was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Terence Reed, 32, 308 Easy Street #10, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 10:12 am for domestic abuse battery (strangulation). Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance at a residence on Easy Street in Franklin. Deputies located Reed, a suspect in the incident, on Easy Street. During the investigation, deputies found evidence that Reed grabbed the female victim by the neck and choked her. Reed was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Juvenile male, 16, St. Martinville, LA was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 11:53 am for theft. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security personnel that the juvenile attempted to leave the store without paying for an item. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Therold James, 33, Bayou Vista, LA was additionally charged with criminal damage to property on March 28, 2018 at 12:45 pm. Correctional deputies at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center found that James, an inmate, damaged a fire sprinkler in a cell. James remains incarcerated.

 

Tiara Broomfield, 25, 13120 Three Rivers Road #2502, Gulfport, MS was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 1:42 pm on 2 warrants for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, reckless operation of a vehicle, improper child restraint, and speeding. Broomfield turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. A deputy transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Broomfield was released on a $3,000 bond.

 

Cathy Cross, 65, 370 Hunting Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 4:03 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security personnel that Cross concealed items in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Cross was released on a summons to appear in court on May 30, 2018.

 

Lance Washington, 37, 513 Nolan Duchane Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 2:57 pm on a warrant for driving left of center, reckless operation of a vehicle, and flight from an officer. On July 10, 2016, a deputy on patrol on Highway 182 in the Charenton area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy also observed the vehicle enter into the oncoming lane of traffic towards the police unit. The vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed crashing into a ditch on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot into a sugarcane field. During the subsequent investigation, the deputy identified the driver as Washington and obtained a warrant for his arrest. A correctional deputy with the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center transported Washington from the Iberia Parish jail on the warrant. No bail is set. This is the second arrest made in this case. NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Bryce Tabor, 23, 105 Hendricks Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 28, 2018 at 2:56 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) with intent to distribute
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Warrant for possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) with intent to distribute, monetary instrument abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

On March 27, 2018, St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section detectives and members of the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant at a residence on Hendricks Street. Detectives located over $560 in counterfeit money, 47 Xanax pills, and a digital scale all belonging to Tabor. Detectives also found evidence that Tabor was selling the Xanax from the residence in Patterson. The location is within 2,000 feet of a church. Detectives obtained a warrant for Tabor’s arrest. On the afternoon of March 28, 2018, detectives located Tabor at his residence on the warrant and found a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, 9 bags of marijuana, and 31 Xanax pills. This is the second arrest made in this case.
