St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Ryan Vaughan, 34, 3109 LA Highway 70, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 at 9:26 am for theft of a motor vehicle. In April of 2017, a detective began an investigation into a report of the theft of an 18-wheeler from a business on LA Highway 182 in Amelia. The detective developed Vaughan as a suspect in the case. The detective found that Vaughan was in the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and completed the investigation which resulted in Vaughan’s arrest for the crime. Vaughan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Vaughan was released after posting a $15,000 bond.

 

Darren Anderson, 35, 811 Ansley Place Court, Houma, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 at 12:13 pm on a warrant for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A corrections deputy transported Anderson from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Juvenile female, 16, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 1:34 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

Juvenile female, 16, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 1:34 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

School resource officers responded to a call for service at Patterson High School regarding a fight that occurred in the cafeteria. The deputies found that the 2 juveniles were involved in a physical encounter that resulted from an argument. Both juveniles were released to guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Kara Kinniard, 28, 327 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 at 5:18 pm on a 14th Judicial District Court (Calcasieu Parish) warrant for failure to comply with a court ordered program. A deputy located Kinniard at her residence on the warrant and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Zhacolbi Harris, 29, 322 Third Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 26, 2018 at 9:43 pm for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and on a Lafourche Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of maximum speed limit (violation). A deputy patrolling the St. Joseph area observed vehicle traveling 49 miles per hour in a posted 25 miles per hour zone on Irish Bend Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Harris. While speaking with Harris, the deputy found that his driver’s license was suspended and that Harris was also wanted on the active warrant. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $6,000.
