St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 16, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 10, 2018 at 4:48 pm for theft of a firearm. A deputy investigating the theft of a firearm in the Franklin area developed the juvenile as a suspect and found evidence that he stole a handgun from the victim’s residence. The juvenile knew the victim. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Sasha Mayon, 31, 1516 Canal Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 10, 2018 at 2:29 pm for the following offenses:
- Obstruction of justice
- Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
Narcotics detectives executing an arrest warrant at a residence on Canal Road spoke with Mayon and received consent to search the location. Detectives found 3 bags of methamphetamine, 2 glass pipes, and a Xanax pill. A juvenile was present at a residence at the time of the investigation. Also, the residence is within 2,000 feet of a park, church, and school. Mayon was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Mayon was released on a $2,000 bond.
