Press Release

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reassures the public of continued investigations on escaped inmates…

Sheriff Scott Anslum would like to thank everyone who has assisted with the recent capturing of three of the four inmates that escaped from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Deputies are continuing to make frequent patrols and monitor residential areas throughout the parish for the remaining inmate, 24-year-old Elias Todd.

The Sheriff’s Office remains in contact with surrounding agencies as information related to the escaped inmate at large comes in. If you see any suspicious activities or a suspect that fit the description in your area, call 911 immediately.

Sheriff Anslum asks the citizens to be aware of inaccurate information being published to social media. Sheriff Anslum reminds everyone to monitor the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office website and social media sites for updated, accurate information.

Sheriff Anslum advised there is an ongoing internal investigation in regards to the recent escape. Once the investigation is completed more information will be available at that time.

“We will continue to follow up on leads and release information regarding the escape as it becomes available to us”, says Sheriff Scott Anslum.
