Arrest Report - June 6, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Clarence Reed, 35, 1012 Weber Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 10:14 am for possession of marijuana. A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area responded to a residence to remove a subject. The deputy came into contact with Reed. The deputy learned that Reed was asked to leave the residence and offered to drop Reed off at another location. During a search of Reed’s person, the deputy located marijuana. Reed was released on a summons to appear in court on September 4, 2018.

 

Charles Burrell, 19, 413 Seventh Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 12:41 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana and window tint/obscuring windshield. Reed was transferred from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Burrell was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Scotty Pellerin, 37, 105 West Bernard Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 7:21 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy working in booking learned that Pellerin held an active warrant for his arrest. Pellerin remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

 

Jonathan Beadle, 28, 402 Pecan Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 6:30 pm on a Patterson Police Department warrant for simple assault. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista came into contact with Beadle while responding to an unrelated call for service. The deputy learned that Beadle held an active warrant for his arrest. Beadle was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Beadle was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Scott Chaisson, 47, 218 Uranus Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 6, 2018 at 4:42 am on the following offenses:

  •      Disturbing the peace
  •      Resisting an officer
  •      Aggravated assault upon a peace officer with a firearm
  •      Possession of marijuana

Deputies patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a call for service at a local business. Deputies found evidence that Chaisson became irate at said business. Deputies located Chaisson on Main Street in Patterson where he became aggressive and threatened deputies. With the assistance of K9 buddy, Chaisson was apprehended. During a search of Chaisson’s person, deputies located marijuana. Chaisson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Demarcus McNeal, 21, 109 Carolyn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 9:11 pm for the following offenses:

  •      Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •      Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  •      Possession of Xanax
  •      Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
  •      Possession of drug paraphernalia
  •      Obstruction of justice

Heather Guidry, 34, 109 Carolyn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 9:11 pm for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle without a license.

 

Ciara Williams, 29, 110 Third Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 9:11 pm on the following offenses:

  •      Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, no child restraint, and failure to honor written promise.
  •      Morgan City warrant for theft
  •      Morgan City warrant for contempt of court
  •      Morgan City warrant for theft by shoplifting
  •      Morgan City warrant for flight from an officer
  •      Morgan City warrant for driving under suspension
  •      Morgan City warrant for contempt of court
  •      Morgan City warrant for contempt of court

 

Narcotics Detectives along with officers with the Berwick Police Department executed a no knock search warrant at 109 Carolyn Road. The warrant stemmed from an investigation launched after receiving complaints of drug activity from the community. Detectives made contact with McNeal, Williams, and Guidry. Detectives observed McNeal attempt to conceal items on his person. During a search, detectives located marijuana, methamphetamine, Xanax, several zip lock bags, and a digital scale. Through the investigation, detectives learned that Guidry held an active warrant for her arrest. During a search of her person, detectives located marijuana and also located items of paraphernalia inside her residence. Detectives also found evidence that Guidry purchased marijuana from McNeal. Detectives made contact with Williams who was seated inside a vehicle with four children. Detectives learned that she held several active warrants for her arrest. McNeal, Guidry, and Williams were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Sierra Vincent, 28, 121 Oak Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 5, 2018 at 11:20 pm for the following offenses:

  •      Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •      Possession of MDMA with intent to distribute
  •      Transactions involving drug proceeds
  •      Possession of drug paraphernalia
  •      Possession of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
  •      Possession of controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone
  •      Possession of Schedule II (oxycodone)
  •      Possession of Schedule IV (xanax)
  •      Possession of Schedule IV (temazepam)

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives received information about drug activity at a business in Morgan City. While making contact with Vincent, a juvenile child answered the door. Detectives noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the room and observed Vincent conceal items before speaking with them. With consent to search the room, detectives located a marijuana cigarette, a plastic baggie containing marijuana, MDMA pills, oxycodone, Xanax, temazepam, drug paraphernalia, and $320. Detectives found that the business was located within 2,000 ft. of a church. Vincent was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
