St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Kristie Blanchard, 40, 2280 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 14, 2018, at 5:33 pm on a warrant for hit and run (felony).

 

Johnny Giroir Sr., 47, 2280 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 14, 2018, at 5:33 pm on a warrant for obstruction of justice.

 

Leo Vining, 44, 1372 Highway 662, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on June 14, 2018, at 5:33 pm on a warrant for obstruction of justice.

 

On Monday, June 11, 2018, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Duhon Boulevard in Amelia. Through the investigation, detectives connected Blanchard, Giroir, and Vining to the hit-and-run. Detectives found evidence that Blanchard hit the victim and left the scene of the crash. Detectives also learned that both Giroir and Vining knew about the crash and helped Blanchard. Blanchard, Giroir, and Vining were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
