St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 111 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Darrell Trim, 61, 1136 Grace Street, Siracusa, LA was arrested on June 22, 2018, at 9:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespassing. A deputy patrolling Siracusa observed a vehicle fail to signal prior to turning. The deputy made contact with a passenger, Trim. The deputy learned that Trim held an active warrant for his arrest. Trim was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.

 

Quanta Jones, 19, 401 Ninth Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 23, 2018, at 1:20 am for driving under suspension and brake lights required. A deputy patrolling the area of Morgan City observed a vehicle traveling with a broken tail light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Jones. The deputy also learned that Jones was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Jones was released on a summons to appear in court on September 4, 2018.

 

Ronald Hawkins Sr., 59, 103 Hawkins Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 23, 2018, at 4:10 pm for driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling Centerville responded to a complaint of a reckless driver. The deputy observed a vehicle matching the given description swerve in and out of traffic. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Hawkins. The deputy learned that Hawkins was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Hawkins was released on a summons to appear in court on September 4, 2018.

 

Cory Pierce, 31, 133 Shady Grove, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 23, 2018, at 4:50 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

•      Possession of oxycodone
•      Possession of buprenorphine hydrochloride
•      Possession of alprazolam
•      Possession of marijuana.

Pierce was transported from the Terrebonne Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $9,000.

 

Joe Gonzalez, 38, 2025 ½ Cory Road, Breaux Bridge, LA was arrested on June 23, 2018, at 4:51 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Gonzalez was transported from the St. Charles Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.

 

Latifha Friels, 25, 110 Mount Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 23, 2018, at 5:08 pm for theft by shoplifting. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a local business for a shoplifting complaint. The deputy found evidence that Friels failed to scan items while checking out. Friels was released on a summons to appear in court on September 4, 2018.
