Narcotics Detectives Arrest 4 on Marijuana Charges

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Tanner Aucoin, 22, 525 Aucoin Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 6:20 pm on the following warrants:

  •      Failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids
  •      Failure to appear on the charge of unauthorized use of an access card
  •      Failure to appear on the charge of possession of legend drugs without a prescription
  •      Failure to appear on the charge of entry or remaining where forbidden
  •      Failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids 

Aucoin was transported from the Lasalle Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Shantelle Freyou, 30, 1409 South Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 7:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of conspiracy to commit possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Freyou turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City. Freyou was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Yailen Blanco, 37, 644 Russo Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 10:56 pm for theft. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a local business for a theft complaint. The deputy found evidence that Blanco exited the business, on several occasions, with items not paid for. Blanco was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Ryan Hall, 31, 271 Grandwood Drive Apt. 53, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 9:12 pm for the following offenses:

  •      Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •      Possession of drug paraphernalia
  •      Violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone
  •      Obstruction of justice

Matthew Green, 23, 271 Grandwood Drive Apt. 53, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 9:12 pm for the following offenses:

  •      Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •      Possession of drug paraphernalia
  •      Transactions involving drug proceeds
  •      Violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone 

Blaine Mitchell, 21, 905 Paula Drive, Delcambre, LA was arrested on July 19, 2018, at 9:09 pm for the following offenses:

  •      Distribution of marijuana
  •      Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •      Transactions involving drug proceeds
  •      Possession of drug paraphernalia

Cody Simmons, 26, 271 Grandwood Drive Apt. 55, Patterson, LA was arrested July 19, 2018, at 9:09 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

While working an investigation into the sale of marijuana in the area, Narcotics Section detectives conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle for improper lane usage. During the course of the stop, detectives made contact with Hall and found evidence that he attempted to conceal marijuana on his person. Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Grandwood Apartments, Apt. #53, the residence occupied by Hall and Green. During the search, detectives located a large amount of marijuana, pipes, baggies, a digital scale, a bong, and rolling papers. Detectives also found evidence that Green sold marijuana. As the investigation continued, detectives found additional evidence leading them to conduct an investigation into apartment #55. Detectives made contact with Simmons and Mitchell. During the search, detectives located marijuana, glass pipes, and a grinder. Detectives also found evidence that Mitchell sold marijuana.

Both apartments are located within 2,000 feet of a local church. Hall, Green, and Mitchell were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set. Simmons was released on a summons to appear in court on October 5, 2018.

The combined investigation yielded a street value of over $14,000 for the marijuana. Detectives also seized $2,191 US currency and a 2005 Mercedes SUV.
