Arrest Report - July 24, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Markila Ruffin, 24, 342 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 10:51 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. A deputy patrolling St. Joseph was dispatched to a residence on Easy Street for an unrelated call for service. Through the investigation, the deputy made contact with Ruffin and learned of an active warrant for her arrest. Ruffin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Ruffin was released on a summons to appear in court on November 13, 2018.

 

Lynette Guidry, 35, 111 Duhon Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 3:07 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. Guidry was transported from the Lafourche Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Bobbie Fitch, 36, 1530 Highway 90W, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 4:52 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace by offensive words and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. A deputy patrolling the area of Morgan City was dispatched to 1530 Highway 90 for a disturbance. Through the course of the investigation, the deputy made contact with Fitch and learned of an active warrant for her arrest. Fitch was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Warren Gabriel Jr., 34, 1201 South Bailey Street, Abbeville, LA was arrested on July 24, 2018, at 2:10 am for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle cross the center line while traveling west bound on Highway 90 Frontage Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Gabriel. While speaking with Gabriel, the deputy observed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The deputy conducted standardized field sobriety and Gabriel performed poorly. The deputy transported Gabriel to the Franklin Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000. Gabriel’s blood alcohol content was 0.177g%. Gabriel was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Gabriel was released on a $2,750 bond.

 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Justin Singleton, 20, 1008 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 5:29 pm on a Franklin 3rd Ward Marshal Office warrant for simple battery. Narcotics Section detectives patrolling the area of Patterson observed a vehicle fail to signal prior to turning at the intersection of Williams and Seyburn Street. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Singleton. Singleton was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Singleton was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Kelvin Johnson, 39, 975 Highway 318, Four Corners, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 6:19 pm on the following charges:

  •      Possession of marijuana
  •      Obstruction of justice
  •      Warrant for possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, and transactions involving drug proceeds

 

Jericho Charles, 29, 146 Highway 668, Four Corners, LA was arrested on July 23, 2018, at 6:19 pm for possession of marijuana.

 

Narcotics Section detectives patrolling Four Corners observed a vehicle traveling with an obstructed license plate. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Johnson and Charles. Upon making contact, detectives could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Detectives also observed Johnson attempt to conceal a bag in a small compartment and saw marijuana on Charles’ pants. Detectives recovered the bag from the compartment and found it to be marijuana. The warrant for Johnson’s arrest stemmed from an investigation initiated on October 5, 2017. Detectives executed a search warrant at Johnson’s residence and located marijuana, crack cocaine, and US currency.

Charles was released on a summons to appear in court on October 5, 2018. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement for booking. Johnson was released on a $15,500 bond.
